Wonderful rose garden. So many varieties which are named. Over a pedestrian bridge near the cactus garden. Great areas to sit. The soil smell is strong but the number of varieties and places to sit and obvious photos opportunities make this a welcomed stroll just a bit away from the science center over the bridge

So beautiful and relaxing. Just being around so many types of roses and admiring the beauty on them all takes me to a calm place where I feel comfortable in.

We found this place by accident. It’s right near one of the bus stops running through Balboa Park. This place is loaded with roses of all varieties and colors. Some of the bushes have labels indicating what type of roses they are. We could smell the roses as we approached. The vibrancy of these flowered is simply amazing! They had anything from deep red and purple to yellow and white. There are a couple of circles you can wander through. The fountains also offer a peaceful backdrop to the flowers. Best of all, this place is free! Seating and shaded areas are limited, though, if you’re looking for a place to sit down. Highly recommended, especially if you’re in the vicinity anyway.

Stunning well-tended garden. It's peak Rose time. If you're going go soon! Everything is blooming!! It looks like they took down the gazebo and I wonder what they're going to put in its place and but if you want shade, just stroll over to the desert garden next door and there's plenty of shaded benches there. Well worth the short stroll.
